What is TIP/400 (TestIP/400)?

INPRO International announces TestIP/400 (TIP/400) Version 0.1.0 because there is no other HOST AS/400 way to determine the response component of the LAN/WAN itself to the overall response time the users are seeing. TIP/400 uses low-level APIs to determine the IP addresses themselves, rather than the user needing to know them. LAN/WAN responses times are show via barcharts for min/avg/max to the user's terminal from the central AS/400 system. Lengths of collections and wait times are user controlled for prolonged testing.

RUNTIP (Collect WAN/LAN Response Time Data)

NOTE:This is the command to run in TestIP/400 that starts the collection process and displays the result.

PROMPT (RUNTIP Command Prompted)

NOTE:This is the prompted RUNTIP command.

Keyword	Description
IPADDRESS	This is the *CURRENT (TIP/400 figures this user's IP address out) or the qualified IP address to test ie '207.144.34.nnn' anywhere in the network from any terminal.
IPTYPE	This is the type of connection to the AS/400 INTRANET (local ethernet) or INTERNET (remote world wide web), this determines the number of collections TIP/400 will run.
MAXTIME	This is the amount of time TIP/400 should wait for responses from the IP address or this device (STANDARD, MAXIMUM, *MINIMUM).

WAIT (WAIT Screen During Collection)

NOTE:This screen displayed during the specified collection period on the RUNTIP command, this could take several minutes over a *INTERNET connection, don't panic.

TIME (Barchart Results Screen)

NOTE:This is the results barchart screen for the specified collection period on the RUNTIP command, to the specified or current user's IP address (device).
